Youth Basketball Tournament

  • One day tournament, 4 - teams. 18 & under. I'm chosen to reinforced the weakest team in the tournament. They granted me to play cos I'm look like 17 years old and help the weak team to become more competitive games. In the early minutes first quarter of the first game I suffered injured right little or pinkie finger for being tangled and I'm playing hurt. I made a successful and one play. I played limited minutes cos I hurt badly. In fourth quarter I made couple of lay-up finished 7 points. We loss the game. In game 2 I didn't play the first 3 quarters. Due to injury of the ace player of our team. I substituted him. I missed couple of shots wound up zero point. And we suffered our 2nd losses. In last of our game, I made a lay-up, a jump shot and in the crunch time the big swished three points shot crowd are screaming down by seven but we did not sustained the rally and lost the game and we finished 4th and last place. My little finger healed in the space of six months.
  • 2nd one-day tournament I became a coach to Bulaon LDS Team. They massacre the first 2 teams and in 3rd game meeting of the two undefeated team. We dropped the game by the longest last two minutes feels like a five minutes game. A great exciting game. Our team finished 2nd place.

AH1N1

What can I do to protect myself from getting sick? Good health practices when the is sickness in the home.
  • Teach your family to wash their hands with soap OFTEN Help the children to wash their hands and upper arms singing Happy Birthday, Bahay Kubo (Philippine Children Song) or Popcorn popping song and have them wash until they sing the full song then rinse well.
  • Clean up all trash and junk piles, these areas make great homes for rats, rodents and mice and they carry disease.
  • Eat foods that are high in vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) Drink a lots of liquids, eat good meals and get a lot of rest.
  • If any member of the family is sick / has fever do not let them go to work or school you should self quarantine / or go into insulation.
  • Stay away from other people that are or have had sickness or fever in there homes. Add a couple drops of plain household bleach to your dish water to kill germs.
  • Learn and teach your family to keep your hands away from your mouth and face, unless you are covering a sneeze. Germs spread this way.
  • Teach your children to keep their fingers / hands from their nose, eyes and their personal parts of their body.
  • Be sure those that are taking care of your family members (day care) follow good safety and health guidance.
  • Should the person get sick or have fever you should replace there toothbrush or soak it in light bleach water and rinse really well.
  • Everyone should have their own glass / cup and not drink out of another.

Goodwill Basketball Games (as missionary in Bicol)

(1996-1998) First in Manila I made an approximately 90 ft. bank shot. In Buhi, Camarines Sur, I'm 20 years old but look like a Senior High. We played a goodwill game with the a varsity and his classmates (Lyceum High). My teammate is a 6 footer American wrestler who took care of rebounds and medium range shooting while me I connected 20 three points shots. Very nice game. They are also (1996-1998) First in Manila I made an approximately 90 ft. They are also smart but we're lucky. We played in municipal basketball court and it is fun the local people, Americans, New Zea lander and Samoan. We have games also in Iriga City, in a clear fiber glass board goal. Nice to play with the NCAA American missionary so strong guard and my weapon against him was a quick 3 points shot, I made also a mid court bank shot there. We played also in Bulan, Sorsogon, Mindanao MVP, Tarlac player and Pangasinan player they are so strong. We lost with my friends in Manila and Rizal. In this same place I made Mid court shots with each goals the 1st is nothing but the net the other is bank shot and all net, too. In Polangi, Albay Street ball 9 ft goal. We always won the game with my 6'2" Tongan fellow missionary. I made lots of 3 points, awesome Jordan lay-up like vs. L.A. Lakers against Polangi MVP I did that twice. Tomahawk dunking I love it. Two guys guarding me I parted the Red Sea to make that Tomahawk Dunk. In this same place we played against Korean tourists, and we won the games with the local guys. Koreans are so quick and strong but don't have much exposure to basketball cos they love baseball and soccer.
