What goes on when you sleep:
  •  your brain recharges
  •  your cells repair themselves
  •  your body releases important hormones

You need different amount of sleep depending on your age:
  •  16 hours - babies
  •  10 hours - 3 to 12 years old
  •  10 hours - 13 to 18 years old
  •   8 hours - 19 to 55 years old
  •   6-7 hours - overs 65 years old
Men have dreams about other men 70% of the time. But women dreams about women & men equally.

We can only dreams about faces we have already seen, whether we actively remember them or not.

Parasomnia  is a type of sleep disorder that makes you do unnatural movement despite being sleep.

Crimes committed by parasomnia includes: sleep driving, writing bad checks, murder, child molesting, rape.

12% of people dreams only in black & white. This numbers use to be higher but since the advent of color TV more people dreams in color than before.

Dreaming is normal. People who do not dream generally have personality disorder.

Sleep positions may determine your personality, the most common positions are:
  •  Fetal - 41% - people are gruff initially, but have warm and open hearts.

Longest sleeping mammals.
1. Koalas - 22 hours
2. Brown bats - 19.9 hours
3. Pandolins - 18 hours

Shortest sleeping mammals.
1. Giraffes - 1.9 hours (in 5-10 minutes sessions)
2. Roe deers - 3.09 hours
3. Asiatic Elephants - 3.1 hours 

When dolphins sleep, only half of their brain is shut & the other half stay awake to help with breathing cycle.

You'll die from sleep deprivation before food deprivation, it takes two weeks to starve but 10 days without sleep can kill you.

Those who born blind experience dreams involving emotion, sound, smell and touch instead of sight.

Within 5 minutes of wake up 50% of your dream is forgotten, within 10 minutes 90% is gone.
